Elaine

Hi, my name is Elaine and I am the playleader for North Nibley Preschool. I have been working here since 2012 initially as deputy playleader before being promoted to playleader in 2016.

I qualified in 1997 as a Nursery Nurse and my qualification is an N.N.E.B Diploma. At the start of my career I worked in America and looked after two little girls before going travelling. After that time, I worked in English nurseries.

I am married and we have a daughter. My husband works in heavy haulage and travels all over the country, from Scotland to Cornwall. Our daughter has now finished school and is enjoying college life trying to work out what career she would like to do.

I spend a lot of time working with girls aged 4yrs-18yrs through girl-guiding - running weekly meetings, going on camps and generally having fun.

I have a beautiful black cat called Jazz who is very vocal and loves cuddles! My favourite colour is blue, and I love lemon cake. I certainly love it when the children have been baking at home and at preschool!
Hello, my name is Becky and I am North Nibley Preschool’s Deputy Playleader. I have worked here since the beginning of 2018 and I love it!
My youngest child came here, and he loved it too. I grew up in North Nibley and both of my children attend the Primary school here.
I have been working in children’s nurseries since 2006. I qualified with a Diploma in Childcare and Education.

I spend my spare time with my family and friends. I am married and my husband is tractor mad! We own quite a lot of tractors, too many, I think! We love taking our two boys to vintage tractor shows and steam rallies. We really enjoyed the “tractor run” fundraiser that my husband organised for Preschool last year.

I love animals and nature and I have a pet guinea pig called Bruno. I love arts and crafts and really enjoy doing this with the preschool children. My favourite colour is purple and I my favourite treat is cheese and pickle sandwiches and chocolate brownies!

Catherine

Hi, my name is Catherine, and I am an Early Years Practitioner, level 3.

I qualified in January 2021. I have worked with a range of age groups, small babies to aged 5 years.

I grew up in North Nibley and my parents still live in North Nibley now as did my grandparents, so I frequently come back to the village to spend time with my family. I came to North Nibley Preschool myself and all my siblings did too!

I now live with my partner and my two spaniels, Dozer and Mylo. They certainly keep me busy, going for lovely long walks by the river near my home and play-fighting over the same toy! My favourite colour is pink, and I love anything to do with Disney. My favourite treat to have at the end of the day are Cadbury's chocolate buttons with a cup of tea.
Hello my name is Sara and I am an early years practitioner, level 3. I have many years experience from working in nurseries, out of school clubs and playgroups.

I joined North Nibley Preschool in December 2025 and I love it, especially the daily walks exploring the beautiful countryside.

I live with my partner and two dogs, Ivy and Luna. I enjoy being outside, taking them for walks. My favourite colour is green and I love to eat Italian food. My family live there and I like to visit them often.

Julie

Hello, my name is Julie and I work as a Setting Support Officer for Preschool. My job is literally as the job title suggests ‘to support the preschool staff & committee’.

My career for many years was working for the NHS and I have now taken early retirement. I have been on the committee more times on than off and this has spanned over 26 years! I attended North Nibley Preschool myself, as have all 8 of my children, yes you read that right, 8 children!

I have lived in North Nibley all my life as do my parents. I live with my husband and 6 of my children. I would not want to live anywhere else!

My favourite thing to do is spending time with my family, my favourite colour is baby pink, and my favourite animal is a cat, we have one called Ziggy.
Hi, I joined North Nibley Pre-school in November 2022 to provide part-time finance admin support to the team.

Previously, I worked for 10 years for a local wildfowl charity as the PA to the finance director. But as my children are now teenagers, with all the activities that come with it, I decided that it was time for me to step into a part-time role that freed up some of my time, and this fitted the bill perfectly.

I live in Dursley with my husband, mad border collie and two sons who both attended North Nibley Primary School, with my youngest also attending the pre-school setting.

I have always found the pre-school to be a fun, friendly and safe environment for children and am pleased to be able to support them all in my own small way.
Rita
